The First Tooth

Hope everyone had a great Christmas. Here are some pictures of Zach's first tooth that appeared between December 2nd and 3rd. You will have to look closely. We are expecting another tooth or two anyday! I have lots of Christmas pictures to go through and post. Hope to do that soon.

So Big!

Hello everyone. Here are some more pictures as I get ready to take lots more during this Christmas season. The first picture I took of him by surprise. I woke up one day to hear music coming from his room. It was dark in the room and somehow he made his way over to the other side of the crib and kept hitting the on button for the Oceans Mobile. He has been doing this a lot actually. Soon, I will have to move it up higher so he doesn't pull himself up! As you can see in some of the other pictures, he is really starting to sit up now! Everyday he can sit up longer and longer. The last picture is of Zach and Daddy playing with Auntie's scarf.

Auntie's Home!

My sister came home on Wednesday. It is the second time she has seen Zach. He took to her right away. She is having a lot of fun with him! The first two pictures were taken at the airport. The third picture is of them at home when Zach was unwrapping one of her Christmas presents. Then, Auntie helped feed Zach his "mush". Carolyn started Christmas baking yesterday and Zach wanted to help. He also enjoyed grabbing Carolyn's lips and twisting them!! HA HA!

We are greatly looking forward to when Mike and Kindra come home on the 27th and will see Zach for the first time.

Push Up and Noises!

This is a video I took of Zach last week when he first starting doing push ups. You can also hear him "talking" a bit. I'm sure I will have lots of Christmas photos to show you.

6 Months Old!

Zach turned 6 months old on December 6th!! Time is flying by so fast. Here are some pictures we took last week. The picture second from the left in the 3rd row is of him giving "raspberries". He was doing that a lot last week. He first tooth popped sometime between December 2nd and 3rd. Around that time he also started crawling around in a circle. He tries so hard to crawl forward, but isn't quite mastering the initial technique yet. He moves very quickly!

He is getting lots of hair up top. I have fun spiking it now and then. The last picture is of a beautiful Christmas ornament that Mom and Dad gave us.

I do not have an up-to-date weight for Zach, but will have that nextTuesday when I take him to the doctor to see why he is up every 2 hours at night still!!

Here are a few pictures taken at the airport and at White Rock, B.C. on Friday. The middle picture is Zach trying to eat a crab that Brian picked up! I tell ya, this kid will put anything in his mouth if we let him!

We got back from B.C. yesterday, 2 days later than expected so I'm a bit behind on things. I'm hoping to put trip pictures on the site really soon.


Zach's first tooth popped through either on Sunday or Monday. The very top of the tooth is through, we are anxiously awaiting for the rest of it!

Piano Playing WIth Auntie

Visit with Great Auntie Joan

On Friday, November 16th, my Dad and I took Zach to see my Auntie Joan in Edmonton. Joan is my dad's eldest sister. Joan had only seen Zach once before at the end of July. Zach warmed up to her right away and was so good! He even played piano with her!! We got some great pictures. Joan is going to B.C. until March so he will be very different when she sees him again!! I'll try to load one of the video clips of Zach playing piano sometime this week.

Hello! Zach is 5 1/2 months old now! I weighed him on Thursday, Nov 15th and he was 15 pounds, 4 1/2 ounces. We're happy he is putting on weight again. The movie rental store was giving away free Shrek ears...so Brian picked Zach up a pair!

More Pictures!

Hello. Here are some new pictures of Zach. First group is him playing with Daddy. They are pretty much dressed the same too. Waffle patterned grey shirt with black jogging pants! As you can see in the pictures, Zach is now grabbing parts of the face! I'm just waiting for him to go for Nana and Grandpa glasses! The next set of pictures shows you how much he is moving now. He was not in those locations originally. He was on the blanket playing! The last pictures is of his first time in his stroller without the car seat. We went to Kingsway with Nana and Grandpa to get a new car seat this past Saturday. We were at the Disney store...I had to take a picture of him looking at my favorite character, Donald Duck. He was so good that day. He didn't fuss or cry for over 4 hours! He was so happy looking at everything. He eventually feel asleep too. The last picture....I had too!! :)

Here are some more new pictures of Zach! I weighed him yesterday and surprisingly he has lost some weight. We are not sure why, but are checking into it. He is longer though, 24.5 inches! His poor gums are really hurting so he has been a bit fussier lately. He sure looked confused the other day when I took him to the window and he looked out and saw everything covered in white. It was quite funny!

First Taste of A Pickle

This was taken yesterday. Brian decided to give him his first taste of a pickle. We were kind of surprised with his reaction. Maybe the right taste buds weren't hit. Who knows!

5 MONTHS OLD!!

Our Zach is 5 months old today. Here is a video I shot this morning. He is very joyful and energetic today!!

Halloween Monkey!

Here is Zach on Halloween. Auntie Carolyn bought him a monkey suit!! I forgot to post last week that on October 26th, Zach weighed 14 pounds, 12 ounces. The cereal is helping him in the weight department. He is also starting to sleep better at night finally. But, I'm not getting overly excited yet until he is more consistent. Napping during the afternoon is kind of a struggle. He is trying to make new noises...especially the ones that Daddy and Nana show him! He is still trying to crawl. No teeth yet.

More Entertainment!

Hello! Zach started cereal (pablum) on October 16th per doctor's orders! Zach's growth rate dropped quite a bit. We think it is because he just is not getting enough from my milk. He seems to really like the "mush". He has it 3 times at day. No allergeric reactions or side affects!! He likes to grab the bowl, try to grab the spoon, and put his first in his mouth right after I put the spoon in there! On Oct 16th he weighed in at 14 pounds, 2 ounces. I'm hoping to weigh him today to see how much of a difference the cereal is making. And finally.....his sleeping is getting better during the night! For the past 3 nights, he has slept more than 2 hour stretches. It's wonderful. He doesn't seem to want to nap during the day though, that's a bit of a fight...but that's okay!

More exciting news....on the morning of Friday, October 19th, I went into his room to find him on his stomach in the crib. That means he finally turned from his back to his stomach. He's been rolling ever since! He doesn't stay in one place anymore! He is also trying to crawl! He gets a little frustrated because he can't go as fast as he wants to on the floor. He also got a great early Christmas present from my parents! We try not to put him in it too much when he is over there so he doesn't get bored with it too fast. I don't think he will...too much to do and look at.

I'm greatly excited that Uncle Mike, Auntie Kindra and Auntie Carolyn will be home for Christmas! I'm hoping Uncle Jim will come home sometime soon to meet Zach as well!

He's getting so big!

New Mom's Group

Yesterday was "graduation day" from the new mom's group that I have been attending for the past 6 weeks or so. I met a lot of great people and caught up with 3 ladies I have not seen in a long time. Here are some pictures from yesterday. Sitting beside Zach on the right side is my long-time friend Lesley's son Isaac.

Zach is 4 months and 5 days old. His cheeks are getting more and more red each day. He sleeping a average of 2 to 2.5 hours stretches at night. It's getting a little tiring for me. He continues to be very entertaining! Lots of smiles and laughs....and high-pitched noises! The one picture shows him "talking" on the toy phone that Nana and Grandpa bought him. He loves to talk on the phone. The middle pictures are in his new saucer that a very kind friend from Shell passed onto me. He loves it as well. The last two are of him in his new high chair that I put together yesterday. It is a half chair that straps onto a regular chair. It is very convinent if you want to take it with you somewhere. He seems to like it!

Zach's Laugh

Hi! Here is a video of Zach laughing last night. It isn't very clear, but I thought I would add it anyway. He was laughing a lot more a few minutes before we taped him. But, you'll get a little idea of what his cackle sounds like! It is the greatest laugh! I can't wait to get a video of him laughing whole-heartedly for a good 30 seconds or more!

New Pictures of Zach!

Here are some new pictures of Zach. He is over 16 weeks old now! On Tuesday, he has an appointment to get his four months' shots. Should be an interesting day. As you can see in the pictures, his cheeks are getting to be very red! He is drooling a lot too! In the first picture on the last row...I had put Zach on his playmat and came back a minute later to find him quite a ways over. Needless to say he is finder new ways to get around. He hasn't done a lot of rolling over yet but could be anyday now. I am waiting for a first tooth too!! All the signs are there...but who knows could be tomorrow, could be in two months. He smiles and talks a lot which just makes my day. He is very entertaining and very popular wherever we go!

Hi Everyone! Zach turned 15 weeks this past Wednesday. I weighed him yesterday and he was 13 pounds, 4 and 3/4 ounces. So, he has slowed down on the weight-gaining for now. Late last week, Zach started to show us his full heartfelt laugh! It was really funny. Only Brian can really seem to get him to laugh like that. I hope to get it on video soon. He is not sleeping through the night yet. I am trying to be patient on that one! I started strollercise last week and it is so much fun! It is a great workout. So, any of you new moms-to-be out there, sign up for the next one! Here are some new pictures.

Here are some new pictures. Zach is 14 weeks old now. He is so funny at times. He is very active and vocal! When I weighed him on September 6th he was 13 pounds, 1 ounce. I started a strollercise class yesterday. It was a great workout and so much fun. I am also still enjoying the New Mom's Group that I meet with on Thursday afternoons. Enjoy the pictures.

3 MONTHS OLD!!

I cannot believe our Zach is 3 months old! He is smiling a lot and talking. But, it is so hard to a picture of him in a full smile. He sees the camera and stops smiling. My mom even got him singing this past week! He actually woke up in the middle night singing instead of voicing his normal hunger squack. I wonder each day if he will roll completely over. We go to a new mom's group on Thursday afternoon's now. That lasts for 8 weeks. I know 3 people in the group which is great. Today we are going to be discussing sleep and crying. These are major topics to a lot of us in the group! Here are some new pictures. There will be more coming for sure!

Hanging out with Auntie

My sister Carolyn flew in last week. It has been a great blessing having her here. She has helped me out so much around the house on things that I got behind on. I think she has really enjoyed spending time with Zach. He sure was smiling and cooing at her today. We will both be sad when she leaves on Tuesday. But, she will hopefully be back at Christmas! I am going to take some more pictures tomorrow of Zach and Carolyn. But, here is a few for now. The picture of her looking into the playpen/crib is when she first saw him. It was 2:00 a.m. Tuesday morning at my parent's house. He was sound asleep.

Hi everyone! Well it has been kind of a crazy week. We have finally redone our kitchen floor! It looks so good. Our friend Kyle came over to help Brian on Saturday. Tonight Brian will put the final touches on the floor and tomorrow we will be able to start putting the house back together. He has done such a good job. I have helped where I can. My sister flew in from Washington D.C. late Monday night. I will have lots of pictures of her with Zach. He had his 2 months' shots yesterday so he was a bit fussy last night. I would be too if I had 3 needles stuck in my thigh! I think he did pretty darn good under the circumstances. I can't remember how much he weighs now...oh well, I'll have to add that later.
